Montréal, September 30th, 2025 — Quebec singer-songwriter Sorrene is releasing today her very first album, Playin' To Win. For this debut, the artist explored country music through different colors: rock, gospel, and pop. Her goal was to create a vibrant sonic palette capable of reaching a wide audience and evoking a range of emotions. The songs tackle powerful themes such as injustice, the search for oneself, and universal reflections.
Sorrene co-wrote all the tracks with her collaborators Samuel Mendosa, Daniel James Alexander Stobbs (who also produced the album), and Jake Mathews (except for Caught Me On a Bad Day), which was written for her by Jake Mathews, Joshua Shaun Osborne (Sam Hunt, Miranda Lambert, Keith Urban), and Trevor Joseph Rosen (Old Dominion). With Playin' To Win and its distinctive sound, Sorrene cements her place in Quebec’s country music scene with fierce confidence, ready to break barriers and establish herself as a must-watch artist.

She knows her partner, and he is losing himself in his own demons. But this time, it is the last straw. She no longer listens to his empty promises. She has had enough. She finally chooses herself, turns the page… and breaks his heart like a bottle.

It describes the route of Sorrene's musical journey which hinges on the attitude of «nothing can stop me», until the wheels literally fall off. With lyrics such as:

She thinks she has found the person with whom she can experience strong feelings, sharing and freedom. She wants to believe that it’s possible and that it won’t just be for one night.
